Weight Loss
Overview:
Weight Loss is a highly complex and deeply personal subject and should be treated with sensitivity.
Obesity is an increasingly common problem that is affecting more and more people because of our increasing desk-based culture, emphasis on long working hours, and the cost-of-living crisis. All of this combined makes it difficult to eat healthily and do enough physical activity.
Becoming over weight or obese can significantly, negatively impact your health and wellbeing. Daily challenges can include experiencing breathlessness, increased sweating, snoring, tiredness, joint and back pain and feeling socially isolated.
Short-term, benefits include increased energy levels, better sleep, improved mobility, enhanced mood and increased confidence and self-esteem.
Long-term benefits of losing weight include reduced risk of developing serious conditions like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, strokes, and certain cancers including breast, womb and bowel.
Facts:

Science:
Obesity is a complex issue with many factors to consider.
We can become overweight or obese if we eat too many calories, particularly those from foods that are high in sugar which are then stored in the body as fat if we don’t burn the calories.
As a child, our learned relationship with physical activity, exercise, food and eating plays a key role in wether or not we become overweight or obese as an adult.
Genetics can also be a cause of obesity for some people as your genes can affect how your body uses food and stores fat.
There are also some underlying health conditions that can occasionally contribute to weight gain, such as an under active thyroid gland (hypothyroidism).
Some medicines can also make people more likely to put on weight, including steroids and some medicines for high blood pressure, diabetes or mental health conditions.

How hypnotherapy can help:
As your hypnotherapist, I would describe my approach to weight loss as a holistic focus on health and happiness.
Through engaging with your powerful subconscious mind, we will reshape your thought patterns, breaking down any negative associations that are stopping you living the life you want to lead, promoting healthier choices and encouraging new neural pathways to form.
We will modify your relationship with physical activity, exercise, food and eating.
We will address the root cause, revisiting the past and exploring how it has impacted your current relationship with weight.
If there are certain food cravings you’re struggling to kick we can work with aversion techniques to help you rid yourself of the specific craving once and for all.
We will build your self-esteem and confidence working with a range of techniques including Ego-Strengthening and Future Mapping.
We will untangle and rewire any behavioural, psychological and emotional factors that are impeding your weight loss. Depending on your preference we might work with Direct Suggestions, Metaphors or Anchoring.
I will support you, every step of the way, on your journey towards achieving the long-lasting results that you deserve.
